KATHMANDU, OCTOBER 24The newly constructed campus building of Aanbookhaireni Campus in Aanbookhaireni Rural Municipality, Tanahun, was inaugurated today.
The building, funded by the Government of India under the 'Nepal-India Development Cooperation' program, was completed at a total cost of NPR 30.01 million.
India offers financial support to Maldives after talks to repair ties Japan hands over newly constructed community library and resource center in Dhankuta The inauguration ceremony was attended by Avinash Kumar Singh, First Secretary at the Embassy of India in Kathmandu, Shanti Raman Wagle, Chief of the District Coordination Committee, Tanahun, and Shukra Chuman, Chairman of Aanbookhaireni Rural Municipality.The double-storeyed campus building, equipped with essential facilities, was constructed as a High Impact Community Development Project (HICDP) under an agreement between the governments of India and Nepal.
The project was implemented by the District Coordination Committee, Tanahun.
Political representatives, government officials, social workers, professors, teachers, parents, and students were also present at the ceremony.
In their remarks, local leaders and campus representatives expressed their gratitude to the Government of India for its continuous developmental support, particularly in priority sectors like education, which uplift the lives of the people in Nepal.
Photo Courtesy: Indian Embassy in Kathmandu Established in 2005 and affiliated with Tribhuvan University, Aanbookhaireni Campus offers Bachelor's degree programs in Business Studies (BBS) and Education (B.Ed), with around 300 students, 90% of whom are girls.
The newly built campus infrastructure is expected to enhance the learning environment and improve educational opportunities in the region.As close neighbours, India and Nepal share wide-ranging and multi-sectoral cooperation.
The implementation of HICDPs reflects the continued support of the Government of India in bolstering the efforts of the Government of Nepal in upliftment of its people by augmenting infrastructure in priority sectors, the Indian Embassy said.
